That biblical account listed at John 8:1-11 is not in there bible and no, they do not teach mercy at the Kingdom Halls. That account used to be a footnote in the old NWT but it was removed because it says a number of authorative manuscripts remove it but it fails to cite which ones.

for family reasons, gorby and his wife and children has to visit the hall at april 14. our family accept that we are faders, but don't accept if we do not visit the memorial.. so, it seems a small investment: one evening love bombing for a year peace and rest.. but i hate the visit.

To not partake may be insulting to them, the witnesses, followers of man; MAN, but to know better because you have since then learned better is to deny the sacrifice Christ made on behalf of all mankind because the scriptures clearly say "do this in remberance of me".
Yes, I can see where most would rather still disappoint man but, Christ the one that really matters: its okay to continue to deny him. Would the witnesses even recognize Christ if he actually appeared? Would they turn their noses up to him if he wore late to a meeting or Didn't put in XXXX amount of hours in service or Wasnt dressed properly for the meeting because you know the slave doesnt teach come as you are or if he showed love or compassion for a depressed, or disfellowshipped person? Would they dismiss him and miss out on his presece because they would rathere adhere to thier dogmatic scribes and pharisees views?
Plus they keep announcing in my relatives and acquaintances halls that this may be the last Memorial. What's that all about? Does anyone know?
I can't say how I would get throught it as it will be my first without the veil over my eyes.

If they send a letter don't accept it. Mark "moved or not at this address" knowing in your heart and mind that you have moved on and the jw they are looking for no longer resides at that address.

You FIT into the watchtower environment if you accept their doctrines and never veer or question their teachings. You are unFIT if you can see thru them like a bad piece of cellophane.
I stop being FIT when I called them on the lack of LOVE shown in the congregations and by letting them know that they didnt FIT in my category of being Spiritually strong. I don't think you are spiritually strong if you give lip service and just show up out in service on Sat. or cant find common scriptures. Most of all if you dont know all 12 of the commandments and can't recite them all, but don't live by the 12th one... You just don't FIT into my level of high spiritual awareness.

as some of you know now im fairly new to ttatt so im still coming to grips with the fact that in my 24 years of life up to this point i have been in an organization that isnt the true religon that i believed.
im a very positve and optimistic person and have never been depressed while a youth in the "truth", but its still somewhat of a tough pill to swallow considering i gave up my dream of playing college basketball to get baptized when i was 18. and also the fact that armegeddon really isnt coming and i wont get to spend forever with my wonderful parents(who also know tthatt) and others close to me.. i also consider myself to have good social skills(that i developed during my rebelious years) although im somewhat of an introvert and always had "worldly" friends even when i was an ms but i im finding it tough to shake off the "all worldly people are bad" mentality that ive had for so long.
i guess my question is how long did it take you guys to get over everything and move on?
The biggest step I took in starting over and moving on was to go to the Kingdom Hall at the meeting and pray to Jehovah that he and Christ remember us in paradise (if it does become a reality) because he knows our hearts and that we love him and are ever grateful to Christ for the sacfrice he made on behalf of all mankinds sins. Then we left. That was this past Sunday.
I am still coming to grips with all the doctrines I learned and how most of they just doesn't apply. I keep searching thru the bible and can not find the scriptures that 30 hours of field service makes you spiritually strong and a good person. Do you know where it is? LOL! In short I'm saying we feel search a relief now that all the guilt and negativity are dismissed from our lives.
Since this is new to me as it is you; I will let others who have been out longer speak on the freedom it offers in the long term.
I still can't embrace the missimg scriptures in John and the warning in Revelation. Also, I did a lot of research on the history of the society and what it started out as is definitively not what it turned out to be. Plus Judge (a name he gave himself-not a title he earned) Rutherford was a rider. He strong armed the organization and reaped all the spoils. I will let you tell me how the story ends.

It's not amusing is it. Makes you wonder who in the congregation just went to the Elders for counsel and the Elder assigned a spiritually weak label to them.
Im learning that they will take someone's private business and make a talk or several talks over weeks about it. Mock them all through the meeting until they've sucked the last bit of hope and spirituality out of them while mentally tossing them out like a sheap without a shepard. And my favorite: how they will have the other Elders, their wives, and/or the ministerial servents gear all their comments to whatever point they want to make and how they will make it tie into the lesson. UGGGH
Being going through it so long and hearing all the negativity that engulfs it week in and week out that that you are actually programed to see everything else bad. You forget about the joy and comfort you are supposed to be receiving from hearing the scriptures.
They are worse than the false comforters spoke of in Job.

How disencouraging to hear of your treatment. They remind me of the scribes and pharisees by making the LORD's work burdensome no wonder they took the authentic bible account of John 7:53-8:11 that basically says "he that is without sin cast the first stone" out of their new bible. They would no longer have a basis for JC's or disfellowshipping as I'm sure that they all fell short before they pronounced that lot on a poor soul.
I'm new hear too and glad so many others are seeing it for all that it really is. A bunch of men belittling the sacrifice Jesus Christ made so that we all have an opportunity for our sins to be forgiven. They are so busy judging and scrutinizing a person's spiritual strength that they dont even take the time to offer the comfort offered at Mt 11:28-30 Come to me all you who are toiling and loade down and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am mild tempered and lowly in heart, and you will find refreshment for your souls. For my yoke is kindly and my load is light." Anymore

These must have conversations with the kids are a bit hurtful yet liberating. I, too, had to speak with my children, but I'm out and had been working overtime to get back in for almost a year.
The route I took was asking them how it felt to become and be ANNOUNCED an unbaptized publisher and how exciting it was to take that "spiritual" step forward? They were all smiles with excitement. Then I reminded them if something were to come up they could quite possibly be announced as no longer being an unbaptized publisher. They all gasped and frowned as they were working towards baptism as well. I told them just like they announce you...ifyou fall short they will unannounce you. We also talked about Elders hating on some friends, having favorites, and how they could be envious too. We talked in depth about the lack of LOVE that's shown in the hall too. I saw the lights go on.
Because the bible said where two or more of you are joined together in my name there I will be also; I gathered them together and we prayed to Jehovah asking Christ to pettition him on our behalf as he knows our hearts and could he please remember each one of us so that we would be with him in paradise if it actually becomes a reality. We all said Amen and left.
It was a good feeling. Kids didn't miss going out in service or having to study for the upcoming meeting tonight. My heart goes out to you and your family.
just read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.
Maybe they'll start to disban congregations and sell off the kingdom halls if they aren't getting the surplus needed.

against my better judgement, i've decided to share the following as a response to guy pierce passing and the announcement of the elimination of district overseers later this year.. late in january (2014) i got an email from one of my contacts (a fader) who served at bethel for several years, but is no longer at wt hq.
he still has a lot of close contacts within the service department and in other departments at patterson and knows people in all of the ny offices.
i kept this email set aside on a flash drive and haven't shared it with anyone - figuring i'd publish an article about it later this year when i had more time to do it right.
It seems they would just fess up and let the congregations know that Jehovah has removed his spirit from his earthly organization because of their sins. The lack of LOVE shown in the congregations, the abuses of Elder Power, the patched up mishandling of child abuse cases tantamount to the Catholic Christendom incidents, the warped view of disfellowshipping by telling the congregations they should not forgive 77 times and that part was a misprint in the bible, the complete removal of John 7:53-8:11 as if they are the only group on earth allowed to throw stones in their glass house without it breaking and that authentic count of the bible doesn't apply to Jehovah's truthful bible based organization, insinuating that Jesus Christ did not die for the sins of all mankind; Need I go on.................
And Jehovah's spirit will only return as soon as it is truly (not by lip service ) evident that they have LOVE AMONGST THEMSELVES.
So, you see friends, down sizing the DO's to restructure to a larger regional convention to camoflage the declining attendance at the district conventions isn't the only step we must take to gain back Jehovah's spirit.
